Aussie rock heroes Airbourne look set to join fellow countrymen AC/DC at Download this summer after axe slinger Roadsy let slip the band are due to storm Castle Donington in June.

With new album No Guts, No Glory out next month, coinciding with a full UK headline tour, the Roadrunner favourites are pinning their hopes on 2010 being a very, very big year.

And Roadsy told rushonrock: “Of course we’re looking at doing some festivals in the summer and it looks like we’ll be back at Download. It’s a great one to play and we can’t wait!” With Airbourne the obvious successors to AC/DC the chance to see both bands on the same bill will be a thrill for fans of good, old fashioned rock and roll.

And Roadsy added: “I loved Black Ice. It was one of the best albums of the year. They’re a great band.”

Look out for a full interview with Airbourne right here ahead of their UK jaunt.
