Thankfully nothing to do with that quiet bunch who populate the Stretford End, America’s Manchester Orchestra are poised to make a big noise in the UK during the next few weeks with appearances at the Leeds and Reading festivals and the release of their second album Mean Everything To Nothing.
As popular with certain indie mags as they are with rock’s mainstream press, the Kings Of Leon-alikes have managed to cut a pretty impressive tune in the shape of lead single I’ve Got Friends and we’ve nabbed the video clip just for you.
Released on August 31 – the day after they play Leeds – the song will be available as a limited edition seven incher. And Mean Everything To Nothing follows a week later.
Lauded by KOL’s Caleb for ‘sounding like we do’, it seems certain Manchester Orchestra will make a huge impact before the end of 2009 and you can expect a full review of their new record right here next month. In the meantime check this out:
