It’s only two weeks since we broke the news right here but rushonrock faves Stone Gods have finally been confirmed as a Download 2009 band!
On another great day for fans of classic rock, undeniably cool Ulstermen The Answer and US stadium rock giants Shinedown were also named among the latest batch of big names confirmed for the June 12-14 festival. It’s a line-up which increasingly harks back to the hard rock glory days of Donington’s greatest Monsters… events and we can’t wait.
So far so-called Classic Rock Sunday is shaping up as follows with headliners Def Leppard and fellow behemoths Whitesnake and ZZ Top dominating the main stage alongside the likes of Journey and Dream Theater. It looks like The Answer, Stone Gods and Tesla will be jostling for position earlier in the day and of course there’s Black Stone Cherry to add to the mix.
And we haven’t even touched on the bands ready to pummel your ears on days one and two. If this doesn’t turn out to be the greatest rock festival of all time then we’ll eat our Aerosmith Rock N Rollercoaster hat (actually, it’s more like a ready stitched bandana with false blonde hair – but it would still taste like shit). Bring it on!
