Still to break into the big time over here, this could be the year when melodic metal band In This Moment make a major impression on UK audiences – and not simply for the fact that singer Maria Brink is one of the most photogenic females in rock.
New album The Dream debuted at number 70 on the US album charts last year and gets its chance to shine on this side of The Pond from April 13.
A day later In This Moment pitch up at Newcastle’s o2 Academy on an impressive four-band bill touring under the Kerrang! Introducing banner. And rock fans are promised a whirlwind affair with one of the US’s most talked about new acts.
Brink toned down her trademark screaming style on The Dream and the ploy worked. More accessible and significantly more melodic, In This Moment are now considered capable of enjoying serious mainstream success following tours with the likes of Ozzy, Megadeth and Rob Zombie.
Single Forever was an undergorund smash back home and it hits stores a week earlier than The Dream. Already being talked about in glowing terms in radio circles and by music mag insiders, this could be the song which puts In This Moment and their striking frontwoman on the Brink of superstardom.
Tickets for the Toon gig on April 14 are on sale now.
