rushonrock faves the Quireboys have confirmed sticksman Pip Malling will not be returning to the fold following a 10-date absence from the band’s latest batch of European dates.
The Spinal Tap of North East rock are renowned for going through more drummers than metal’s most famous spoof band and Malling is just the latest in a lomg line of tub thumpers to fall by the wayside. Even Jason Bonham enjoyed a stint with Spike and co. before that reunion earlier this year…
But hopes are high that new drummer Phil Martini will buck the trend and become a Quireboys mainstay. The former Tokyo Dragons’ hero has been filling in for Malling during the past few weeks and by all accounts he’s been in cracking form.
