WWE’s next Premium Live Event is just around the corner, with Night Of Champions in Saudi Arabia little more than a week away.
It is, however, the PLE after that, which has the British chapter of the WWE Universe buzzing.
Those excitement levels are about to ramp up even further after a huge announcement on Wednesday.
With just over a month until WWE heads to London and The O2 arena, the company have announced that Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will appear at both SmackDown and Money In The Bank on June 30 and July 1.
The last time Reigns appeared at a live event in Britain, he defeated Scotsman Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle amid huge disappointment from the partisan, home nations crowd.
Earlier this month, WWE headed to Puerto Rico for their Backlash event, enjoying a raucous crowd even without the Tribal Chief in attendance.
Social media expects the British crowd to step up to the challenge laid down that night and make even more noise.
The inclusion of Reigns at Money In The Bank gives even more incentive on a night where anything is possible and champions can’t afford to rest easy.
WWE’s trip to the UK will mark the first time ever that SmackDown will broadcast live from the UK.
The next night at Money In The Bank, will also bring WWE first PLE to be held in London in over two decades.
Back in 2002, the company laid on Insurrextion exclusively for UK fans and, until the launch of the WWE Network, the event was unavailable (through official channels) to the rest of the world.
The main event that night was Triple H vs The Undertaker, on a card that also featured legends Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The rest of the card or any other Superstars for this year’s Money In The Bank, have yet to be confirmed.
With the inclusion of Roman Reigns, expect WWE to go all out and bring the biggest names on the roster for what promises to be another record breaking night for the company on British soil.
The final remaining single event tickets for SmackDown and Money In The Bank will be available this Friday, May 19 at 10am BST via Ticketmaster.co.uk and TheO2.co.uk.
