Ablaze – No Chaser (ABLAZE)

Aussie rock is enjoying a golden era heading towards 2020.

Where AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and Cold Chisel led, a new breed of rabble-rousing rock and rollers have followed.

Too cool for schoolers Wolfmother and Jet kept the pot boiling throughout the noughties.

And during the last decade Airbourne, The Lazys, Black Aces and the magnificent Massive have made their presence felt.

Now Ablaze are spearheading a new wave of dirty riffs from Down Under.

And No Chaser is a refreshing take on a tried and tested formula.

It’s soaked in all your favourite Aussie rock flavours: drinking, partying, fighting and fun make for a classic cocktail of musical mayhem.

But tracks like The Darkest Day (What I’ve Become) and Bottom Of My Bottle suggest this is band built as much on brains as it is on brawn.

Sure, No Chaser is hardly an introspective study of the male psyche in 2019.

But don’t be fooled by the laddish refrain dominating a record that doesn’t always stick to lazy stereotypes.

Ablaze, of course, are built to bring the house down live.

Like good mates Massive their music is the soundtrack to the best night of your life.

And No Chaser is chock full of singalong anthems making a striking impression on UK audiences this month.

Ablaze of glory? Too damn right.

Missing Massive? Bereft at the lack of Black Aces shows? Already counting the days until Airbourne’s return?

Ablaze is the answer. No Chaser? No problem.
