And Luke Morley’s influence as producer, co-songwriter and voice of experience can be heard from start to finish on this mid-summer sizzler.
Fusing the ghost of Lemmy with red hot Runaways and a healthy dollop of AC/DC-styled riffs, the gutsy follow-up to Game On is more of the same…but refreshingly different.
Gill Montgomery now boasts a greater depth and authenticity with the feisty Scot rapidly becoming one of the British rock’s most exciting vocal talents.
At her best on opener Batter Up and in ball-breaking form on the rugged White Russian Roulette, the fast-improving frontwoman has exceeded expectations.
Pervert Alert is a touch too much but set closer Stealing Thunder is a belter. As was the decision to bag Morley – stealing Thunder’s guitarist might prove to be the heist of the century.
