Danny ‘The Mailman’ Vaughan never fails to deliver. Just two years after raising the roof inside the same venue, the Tyketto frontman stole the show with yet another tour de force of melodic rock.

But when the plan was to play Don’t Come Easy in its entirety – albeit back to front – there was surely never a chance this stunning set would fail.

As soon as the first notes of the iconic Sail Away had washed over the expectant masses this was a set not to be missed. Throwing in the B-side to Forever Young – the rarely heard Walk Away – was a bonus but this was a show swimming in melodic rock highlights.

Vaughn is a born entertainer with the cheeky smile and brazen banter to stir the most latent crowd into action. The fact that Tyketto were playing to a full house in Saturday’s prime time slot made his job so much easier. And yet there was no complacency here.

Anthem after anthem was rolled out with note-perfect precision but Standing Alone – as it so often does – stole the show. Breaking news of a brand new album, featuring the current live line-up, and more dates throughout 2016 set the seal on a famous night for Vaughn and co.
