It’s that time of the year when we recognise the best of the best in rock and metal.
And as we count down towards our 2013 Albums Of The Year here’s a reminder of the visual treats on offer over the last 12 months.
And if you vehemently disagree then feel free to get in touch and let us know what missed the cut…
2013 DVDs OF THE YEAR
1. Europe – Live At Sweden Rock: 30th Anniversary Show
Doesn’t time fly? But if you’re a fan of the original hair metal heroes then, for a while at least when you’re immersed in Live At Sweden Rock, time stands still.
Then again that doesn’t tell the true story where this epic career-defining set is concerned. Sure the cheesy classics come thick and fast but there’s just as much focus on the band’s more recent, bluesier, groove-laden back catalogue.
If you only saw Europe race through this summer’s truncated Download set then this show – filmed a week earlier – is the true record of a band on fire. Brilliant stuff.
2. Def Leppard – Viva! Hysteria
3. Jane’s Addiction – Live In NYC
4. Rush – Clockwork Angels Tour
5. The Union – Live At The Guildhall
