Swedish demigods of bluesy, psychedelic rock Graveyard have set Lights Out as the title for their third studio album, due out in Europe on October 26 and in North America on November 6.
The RUSHONROCK approved retro crew won our 2011 Gig Of The Year gong after thrilling last summer’s High Voltage crowd in London. And breakout album Hisingen Blues landed at number four in our Album Of The Year category!
Needless to say we can’t wait to hear the band’s new material and drummer Axel Sjoberg said: “Lights Out sums up the feeling of the new album. And a feeling that we have that these times that we live in are strange times… where no one really sees anything straight or the way they are.”
Sjöberg added: “We all know that both we and pretty much everyone else was really excited about the cover of Hisingen Blues, so we had to come up with a really strong idea to match the strength of that cover.
“It’s just about finished now but even without having seen the final version we are convinced that no one will be disappointed. We’ve worked with several people who all added their part and, as the saying goes in Sweden, ‘The sum of the parts is bigger than the parts alone’. So sharpen your raven’s hatches and get ready for Lights Out!”
Lights Out is the follow-up to 2011’s Hisingen Blues, Graveyard’s second studio album and Nuclear Blast debut that landed on three Billboard album charts (#48 – Heatseekers, #140 – Top Independent Current albums, and #46 – Current Hard Music Albums) and officially entered the Swedish album chart at number one.
The record was produced, recorded, and mixed in 100% analog by Don Alsterberg (Gonzales, Junip, Soundtrack Of Our Lives, The International Noise Conspiracy) at Don Pierre Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.
