A new metal night is set to take the North East by storm after one of the region’s leading rock DJs revealed plans to kickstart the local live scene.
Wayne Madden, who presents The Graveyard Shift on internet station YRadio, is the brains behind back-to-back Friday night shows.
And fans on North Tyneside will be treated to headline sets from rising stars Reflections In Exile and Arcite (pictured) at North Shields YMCA.
“On May 25 and June 1 we’re holding our first ever metal gigs in the venue,” said Madden.
“The aim is to both raise YRadio.co.uk‘s profile and raise money for charity.
“Due to the fact that this event is being held in a Youth Centre the gigs will be quite unique with doors at 6.30pm on both nights and the first act performing at 7pm.
“The shows will end at 9pm because, most importantly, people then have the option of still getting public transport home.”
The concert venue within the YMCA holds 100 people and tickets are just £4.
“I know that YMCA North Tyneside isn’t the first place you think of when it comes to metal in North Shields,” added Madden.
“But we want to really help promote these gigs and see if people want to have fun and build on that and see where we go.”
