RUSHONROCK approved UK classic rockers The Treatment have bagged the trip of a lifetime after being named as opening act for the Kiss/Motley Crue double header this summer.
Two of the biggest bands in the world are joining forces across America on what is billed as The Tour. And The Treatment will join the party after taking up the chance of a lifetime to take their fledgling career to the next level.
With debut album This Might Hurt making waves throughout 2011 – and a run of support slots with Steel Panther earlier this year confirming their prowess as a killer live band – the UK quintet are one of the fastest-rising bands in Britain.
But frontman Matt Jones admitted: “Frankly, our involvement with The Tour is something that hasn’t truly sunk in yet. People may be wondering how a bunch of 19 year olds from the UK have been offered such a wonderful opportunity, and all we can say is, we have a dedicated team around us and we work hard at what we do.
“And of course big thanks to Kiss and Motley Crue, especially Nikki Sixx, who played us on his US radio show straight away. Their support means a lot to us – those guys are living legends!
“We’re proud to be representing the British rock scene in the US, cos when it comes to rockin’ music, we have a long and proud tradition in the UK. We will do everything possible to fly the flag and play our part.”
The Treatment will play Download this summer and dates with Thin Lizzy – as well as releasing a five-track covers EP this weekend to celebrate Record Store Day.
