rushonrock approved Xtra Mile Recordings are bringing us Rock Against The Riots – a celebration of the label’s killer roster of top class acts that will offer friends, supporters and music lovers everywhere something truly special…
On the October 19, at London’s Borderline, five acts from Xtra Mile’s eclectic stable will be performing intimate acoustic sets – as well as meeting the fans that have helped support them and the label.
On the bill are long term family members Chris T-T (pictured) and Beans on Toast, as well as new signings Mull Historical Society, The Loved One and Kyle D Evans – the frontman from Retrospective Soundtrack Players.
There will be goody bags, an Xtra Mile merch stand and the label will be linking up with one of its biggest acts currently touring North America.
The gig is part of Xtra Mile’s F**k The Fire campaign – a project born out of the ashes of the summer’s London Riots. When a fire tore down the Sony DADC Warehouse that housed [PIAS] – a large distributor of more than 150 independent record labels – all Xtra Mile’s new releases, limited editions and back catalogue went up in flames. As a result the label teamed up PledgeMusic and formed a groundbreaking direct-to-fan campaign.
XtraMile invited fans to tell them what stock they wanted to be replenished and if the label reaches its targets then repressing will start – and this week they were just 2% shy of that target.
