Europe new colourBand of the moment, melodic rock superstars Europe, are keen to play Download in 2010 after admitting to casting envious eyes in the direction of this summer’s Classic Rock Sunday.

In his latest chat with rushonrock, singer Joey Tempest revealed the band will tour new hit record Last Look At Eden until spring next year before hitting the festival circuit full on.

And the veteran vocalist said: “I’d love to do Download. I’ve told our management that I’m interested and asked them to make a few enquiries.

“This summer’s Classic Rock bill was really cool with the likes of Leppard, Whitesnake and ZZ Top on the main stage. Most festivals have started to mix things up genre-wise and Download got it just right this year.

“There’s a coming together of bands from across the rock spectrum and we’re right in the thick of it. We’ve played Bloodstock this year and played alongside the likes of Opeth and Arch Enemy – bands from our neck of the woods who say they still listen to Europe.

“There’s a connection and a mutaul admiration between hard rock and extreme metal and festivals like Download helpt to bring it all together under one roof.”

Europe kick off their European tour in London on November 1 before heading to Germany for a four week stint. the band hist the UK in February and we’ll have loads more from Joey and the boys in the new year.
