Now trying to name an American/Greek female fronted rock band is going to tax the most avid fans of this fledgling site and until today we couldn’t do it.
But then a bluesy, ballsy, breezy little album landed on the rushonrock decks and suddenly we’re humming along to tracks crafted in Athens, polished in new York and ready to rip up live stages across the UK this spring. It’s called No More Sins and it’s by the potentially brilliant 4Bitten.
The great news for us North East rockers is that the former covers band tuned original classic rockers are heading our way in support of the funk rock master himself Dan Reed. Yep, shorn of his Network, one of the smoothest operators in rock returns to Tyneside on April 29 for what promises to be a mouthwatering gig at Trillians. And he’s bringing 4Bitten along for the ride.
Now before you all get too excited (all three of you) the impressive No More Sins (and don’t mention sins when Self Made Man’s within earshot) isn’t actually available over here until nine days before that Newcastle show. Out on April 20 via Rocksector Records it will finally announce powerful lead singer and keys maiden Fofi to the masses – and we reckon the masses might just be impressed.
Citing their influences as Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Thunder and ZZ Top you can see where 4Bitten are coming from. But their carefully crafted debut is no rip off of the above. What it is is worth a shot. We’ll do our best to track down Fofi and her friends before they take their Trillians bow but we can’t wait for what promises to be a seriously delicious double header.
