News has reached rushonrock that the last few remaining tickets for one of the gigs of 2008 are selling fast – and you’d have to be a fool to miss Aussie rockers Airbourne in November.

In the absence of any AC/DC show anytime soon this is about as close to the great ones as you’re going to get. But then these boys are no simple tribute band.

They might boast all the hallmarks of Bon Scott and his buddies at their creative peak but Airbourne can pen a decent tune in their own right and debut long player Runnin’ Wild is testimony to a band going places in 2008.

In fact the hard rocking four piece will play in front of 30,000 sweaty rockers this autumn with their November 17 show at Newcastle’s Academy set to be one of the most talked about music events of the year.

And it’s no surprise that Roadrunner are poised to release a special CD/DVD edition of Runnin’ Wild to coincide with the band’s biggest UK showcase to date. So don’t put it off any longer – get those tix now…

…just don’t forget Extreme and Justin Hawkins’ Hot Leg play Newcastle’s City Hall the same night. Doh!
