YEAR OF NO LIGHT ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

Richard Holmes22nd April 2021News

Year Of No Light will mark their 20th anniversary this year with a new album… and a very special box set.

The acclaimed avant-metal act’s new opus, Consolamentum, will be released on July 2 on Pelagic Records.

And Pelagic will also be celebrating the French band’s anniversary with a wooden box set containing their entire discography of five studio albums, several split EPs, and the collaboration with Belgian composer Dirk Serries from the Live At Roadburn recordings, on 12 vinyl records.

The new studio opus – the follow to 2013’s Tocsin – is a continuation of Year Of No Light’s obsession for the fall of man and salvation through darkness

Consolamentum was recorded and mixed by Cyrille Gachet at Cryogene in Begles / Bordeaux, and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side.

The band commented: “We wanted this album to sound as organic and analogue as possible. All tracks were recorded live.

“The goal was to have the most natural, warm and clean takes possible, to give volume to the dynamics of the songs.

“We aimed to have a production with a singular personality.”

New single Réalgar, described by Year Of No Light as “a mineral dive in the interzone, a journey between several realities and a confrontation with our inner demons” is out now.

You can check it out on the band’s Bandcamp page: https://yearofnolight.bandcamp.com/track/r-algar-2
