Electric crossover band Rise Of The Northstar have released the live music video for their hit cover Here Comes The Boom.

The Nelly original has already been turned into a rock tune by POD and now Rise Of The Northstar have had a crack.

Here Comes The Boom was recorded live in their native France during the band’s May 18 show in Paris and comes from their album The Legacy Of Shi.

The band will kick off their European headline tour in support of the album on October 17 in Aarschot, Belgium.

“We are excited to bring The Legacy Of Shi Tour to Europe in the way it was meant to be seen: the five of us against the Yokai samurai. We can’t wait to fight him with you by our side,” said the band.

The tour will lead Rise Of The Northstar through Belgium, Germany, Czech, Austria and Switzerland, bringing their biggest and most ambitious production to the stage.

We might be slightly biased because this is, after all, a rock website but the metal version of Here Comes The Boom slaps harder than the Nelly original ever could.

It’s like the rapper made a track that would sound perfect around the scene and kept it all to himself. Well now the secret’s out there and Rise Of The Northstar are telling everyone who’ll listen.

They released their second album The Legacy Of Shi in 2018 via Nuclear Blast, which was recorded with Gojira drummer Joe Duplantier in Brooklyn.

Over the course of the past four years, the internationally acclaimed band has become a household name for crossing 90s metal, rap, hardcore and Japanese culture as well as brutal and intense live shows. After the release of their globally praised debut album, Welcame in 2014, the band embarked on countless tours, leaving dropped jaws everywhere.

This latest run of dates should help cement their reputation across their own turf.
