Kissin’ Dynamite – Generation Goodbye (AFM)

Genre: Hard Rock

…and breathe! The spectacular demise of Kissin’ Dynamite, as evidenced by the dreadful Megalomania, was one of the biggest disappointments of 2014. And for two years we’ve been wondering what happened to one of the most exciting hard rock bands to emerge from Germany in decades.

The answer is one almighty reality check. For fans of Addicted To Metal and the brilliant Money, Sex & Power this is like bumping into a dear old friend after a long and painful absence – and recalling just how special they really are. Gone is the ill-advised bid to become a hybrid hair metal Rammstein and back is a sparkling talent for writing chorus-driven rock.

The superb If Clocks Are Running Backwards is like Seal’s Prayer For The Dying on steroids and the soaring solo on party anthem She Came She Saw channels Schenker, Roth and more.

Kissin’ Dynamite always had the potential to become one of the biggest noises on the European rock scene and with Generation Goodbye they’re closer than ever to realising their teenage dream. Think Reckless Love meets Iron Maiden (check out Highlight Zone) and you’re halfway there.

Back on track and back to their brilliant best.
