Mathias ‘Warlord’ Nygård has moved to reassure the people of Britain that the latest Viking invasion will not involve rape, pillage and destructive raids.

Turisas’ engaging frontman caught up with RUSHONROCK to lay to rest rumours that no man or beast is safe from the Battle Metal heroes ahead of their latest UK headline tour.

And Nygård has pledged to let the band’s music do the talking as the fantastic Finns do a full sweep of these shores for the first time since 2008.

“Our schedule’s so tight it doesn’t leave much time at all for raids,” said the clearly frustrated singer. “I’m just not sure how much raping and pillaging we’ll be able to squeeze in this time around.

“To be honest that was always more the style of the Danes, the Swedes and the Norwegians. I don’t think you can tar us with their brush as you say.

“Of course everything about the shows and the places they’re at will be a little different to what the locals might expect.

“Our fans are a bit weird and they love to dress up. It might look a bit worse than it actually is.”

Turisas head out on the road at the end of the month. We’ll be shaking our inflatable swords with the rest of the mad fans in November.
