Melodic hardcore might be metal’s buzz genre right now and bands of that ilk coming out of America are ten a penny (or should that be ten a cent?).

But here at rushonrock we remain confident that the cream will always rise to the top and in the case of blessthefall (they don’t go in for spaces or capital letters) we reckon there’s no band creamier.

With hit album Witness still fresh in the minds of heart-pumping hardcore fans everywhere, the Phoenix fliers are back with its bludgeoning successor Awakening. And to tie in with its October 3 UK release the lads have only gone and lined up a six-date headline tour of these very shores!

Frontman Beau Bokan said: “Awakening is truly the beast we’ve become. We’ve been together a little over two years now and we have grown together as friends and musicians. This album shows us at our full potential. Witness was like “here we are… we may have changed line up, but we can still write awesome tunes”. But we’ve gone above and beyond with this new album.  We’re so proud of it and we know everyone is going to love it.”

We think we might just do that. blessthefall headline the following UK shows later this year with support from Pierce The Veil & Motionless In White:

15-Oct – London, England @ Garage

16-Oct – Oxford, England @ Academy 2

17-Oct – Birmingham, England @ Academy 2

18-Oct – Manchester, England @ Academy 3

19-Oct – Newcastle, Academy 2

20-Oct – Glasgow, Scotland @ Cathouse
