So Sonisphere is gearing up for an Iron Maiden-inspired finale and we’d be expecting fireworks – if Rammstein hadn’t already used them up last night.

Our man Adam S is back with his round-up of the Day Two action featuring the mighty Rammstein and the enduring Motley Crue plus a whole load more.

And he has a quick look forward to Day Three with Maiden and Slayer, amongst others, readying themselves for a full-on aural assault. Enjoy. Read the rest of this entry »

Review – Rammstein

@ Birmingham LG Arena, February 3 2010

There is a general consensus on the grapevine that Rammstein’s latest album will be their last.  After admitted disputes over musical directions the band could be parting ways.  If so, then they certainly went out with a bang.

Rammstein had only three UK dates on their latest tour.  London, Manchester and Birmingham were lucky enough to be included and thousands flocked to see a band that has matured progressively since their last UK tour in 2005.  Read the rest of this entry »

This week we’re all over All Time Low as the hot US pop punksters back up the release of this week’s MTV Unplugged CD with a series of headline slots on the Kerrang! tour.

We’ll bring you all the action from Wednesday’s Newcastle show and look out for an exclusive interview with the band here soon.

And talking of exclusives we catch up with rising UK rockers Voodoo Johnson – two months after they blew away the rushonrock team at Hard Rock Hell 2009. And there’s more. Read the rest of this entry »

The decision to announce AC/DC as the first headline act for Download 2010 has given the UK’s premier rock and metal festival a huge shot in the arm.

A band synonymous with the Monsters Of Rock event of years gone by – and an act still riding high on the back of their best album for more than 20 years – is the perfect tool to inspire a tickets rush. Read the rest of this entry »

Just how many rock festivals can one country take?

That’s the question on everybody’s lips right now as a nation in the grip of recession continues to embrace a succession of top class events showcasing the world’s very best bands.

No sooner had Sonisphere announced itself as the major rival to Download than plans were in place to launch the classic rock-themed High Voltage festival for 2010. Read the rest of this entry »

It was always a gamble. But at the time it seemed like a gamble worth taking.

Adding Rammstein’s new record to this year’s Amazon wishlist was an innocent enough step.

I’d seen it was available on vinyl and didn’t own a copy of Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da on CD so opening it up on Chrsitmas morning would be an absolute joy. Read the rest of this entry »

Rock Wars

eddieSonisphere may have stolen a march on its rivals in the race to become crowned the summer festival of 2010 – naming Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Alice Cooper among its confirmed acts – but next year’s new kid on the block has hit back in some style.

The Classic Rock conceived High Voltage two-dayer had already named ELP and ZZ Top as co-headliners and now Foreigner, Focus, Black Label Society and Clutch have been added to the bill.

And all of this at a time when the likes of Kiss and Europe are being touted to deliver main stage sets at Download! Read the rest of this entry »

DSC_0722rushonrock tip for 2010 Marya Roxx impressed the masses on the Hard Rock Hell main stage last weekend but now she’s out to make her mark on the world.

The metal chick based in LA, but hailing from the Baltic state of Estonia, has it all – the tunes, the looks and a red hot band.

Needless to say we’ll be bringing you much more Marya next year but for now take a look at what makes her tick. Read the rest of this entry »
