After a successful stint with his adopted band across America, drummer Nick Augusto has won one of the hottest seats in metal for good.

A more than useful stand-in on the US leg of Trivium’s Into The Mouth Of Hell We Tour trek, the skinsman appears on new track Shattering The Skies Above.

Released in the UK on March 1 and knocking spots off the new Bon Jovi record, we can’t get enough of the new Giant record Promise Land.

Once again Italian melodic rock label Frontiers Records have served up a treat in the shape of a thrilling 13-track return to form.

Ballad Our Love might belong in an 80s rock club crammed full with lighter-waving fans but it’s an absolute belter of a track.

Weird and wonderful metal monsters Finntroll have revealed new record Nifelvind will be released next February and the band is promising its most diverse work to date.

Recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios, the album’s cover artwork was again supplied by the band’s own guitarist Skrymer.

They’re one of rock’s great survivors and if they’re no longer Livin’ On A Prayer – all their prayers have been answered including that dream slot on X Factor – then Bon Jovi are still, at least, living.
