NWOTHM bastions The Sword are back in the studio and pounding out the riffs which will eventually underpin their eagerly anticipated third album.
After a long spell on the road opening up for the legendary Metallica, the US stars are finally bowing to fan pressure and crafting their next assault on the rock world.

Aerosmith will co-headline Download 2010 – on the condition that Steven Tyler joins Joe Perry on the Donington stage.
That’s the incredible news rock fans are digesting tonight as the organisers of the UK’s leading roc and metal festival continue to finalise this summer’s bill.
Chart-topping angst rockers Rage Against The Machine have also been lined up to join the likes of AC/DC, Them Crooked Vultures and Mortorhead at what is fast becoming a who’s who of rock greats. If you missed them first time around then prepare to be introduced to your New Year new best friends as Canadian troupe Priestess bid to make it big in 2010.
Familiar to a handful of UK fans following their 2007 support slot on Megadeth’s tour, the trad metal monsters have shared stages with the likes of Black Label Society, Converge, Mastodon and Motorhead.

Motorhead mainman Lemmy and Slayer’s Dave Lombardo are just two of rock’s royalty to have added their significant clout to the soundtrack of new skater movie Extremely Sorry.
Acclaimed producer Baron has brought together some of the biggest names in music to create a compilation of top tunes relating to each of the skaters featured in the latest film from the Flip franchise.

Rock is recession proof. Or so we keep hearing. Well try telling that to German label SPV after the legendary rock and metal specialists today announced they were insolvent.
