Still no words from Spoors The Merrier (we’re getting a little bit worried now) but Love Gun Grierson is putting the work in leading up to AC/DC – the band he last saw at this very same venue 19 years ago…

Here’s his latest snap reviews:

Lawnmower Deth – legendary rabbit sumo 10/10.

Killswitch Engage – poor sound in places 5/10.

Tyketto – first keyboards of the day and crowd singing along 8/10.

Noodle Bar (are they a band, Ed?) – very tasty 10/10.

Them Crooked Vultures – Dave Grohl back where he belongs behind the skins. Great musicians let down by average songs 7/10.

Bullet For My Valentine – big crowd and kids seem to enjoy them 9/10.

In position for the mighty AC/DC…

Killswitch band 2Metal fans across the country can look forward to a full-on ear bashing before the end of the year after Killswitch Engage and In Flames revealed they are joining forces to lay waste to six UK venues.

The hard hitting duo team up to headline the 2009 Taste Of Chaos tour in November and December with Newcastle’s Academy bagging one of the hotly anticipated gigs. And an excited Howard Jones warned fans : ”Don’t forget to take a daily multivitamin if you’re thinking of seeing these shows!” Read the rest of this entry »

Rock Solid

killswitch bandHeavy metal goes head to head with rock n roll this week as we look at four killer records to suit all tastes. Leading the pack is the latest aural explosion from US nosie merchants Killswitch Engage but if you think that’s enough to blast an eardrum then you’ve not heard the new Suicide Silence record.

On the lighter side we focus on Merseyside good time groovers The Jokers and an impressive slice of southern rock style boogie from US stars Cold Truth. Read the rest of this entry »
