Hardline? Perhaps it should have been hard lines. Had this merry gang of melodic rockers hooked up a few years eralier then commercial glory would have been theirs for the taking.

As it was even the input of Journey’s Neal Schon (credited as musician, songwriter and producer on this record) was not enough to save the Gioeli brothers from the brutal assault that was Grunge. This Week On RUSHONROCK

inme resizeINME (pictured) are one of a slew of bands taking to the stage this week and we’re going live crazy in a bid to bring you the very best of the gig action.

Next weekend might be the Great North Run but we’re gearing up for a rock marathon on Thursday as Dave McPherson’s mob, celebrating today’s release of Herald Moth, go head to head with LA Guns and Fables Last Stand plus the 2009 Jeff Fest. Three venues, too many bands and only one website capable of bringing you all the action first!

But a truly bonkers week kicks off tonight with Mammal at the End Bar and Blackhole preparing to blitz a Newcastle o2 Academy crowd. Random Hand check into Northumbria University on Tuesday and 24 hours later, at the same venue, The Used showcase their new record. Wednesday also sees Dirty Rock And Roll return to action at Newcastle’s Head Of Steam.  Read the rest of this entry »

jltLike a Shane Warne over in the IPL we’ve got six of the best for you this week including the latest offering from Sunstorm featuring David Coverdale’s best mate Joe Lynn Turner (pictured).

It’s another big week for melodic rock with Hardline and The Trophy hitting the mark and not-to-be-missed newcomers 4Bitten releasing a tasty little debut.

Throw in the strangely addictive ska-core of Sonic Boom Six and a rock band from Belgium (!) in the shape of The Black Box Revelation and this is one of those weeks when we can confidently predict there really is something for everyone… Read the rest of this entry »
