Download: Slash And ‘Bourne

Posted by simon On June - 15 - 2010 1 COMMENT

Slash believes Aussie rockers Airbourne are the best new rock and roll band around after bigging up his Roadrunner label mates at Download 2010.

Both bands thrilled the crowds at Castle Donington on Sunday with the former GnR axe slinger enjoying a main stage slot and Airbourne second from top on the Ronnie James Dio stage.

And when Slash was asked which band on the bill he liked most the Velvet Revolver star said: “It’s got to be Airbourne – those guys are pehnomenal.

“As far as new rock and roll bands are concerned right now there haven’t been a lot of insanely great acts for some time.

“It’s hard to say who else I’d pick but Airbourne rock!”

The AC/DC soundalikes were confirmed as Hard Rock Hell headliners at the weekend where they will join fellow Downloaders Saxon.

EXCLUSIVE – Hysterica Interview

Posted by simon On January - 6 - 2010 2 COMMENTS

Iron maidens Hysterica (seen here demanding a picture with our publicity-shy editor) held the Hard Rock Hell crowd in the palm of their hands in Prestatyn last month for 30 brief but brilliant minutes.

And with debut album Metalwar making waves across the UK and Europe we’re predicting a big year ahead for the foxy five-piece.

Hysterica hope to return to British shores in 2010 for a full tour of the country which spawned Judas Priest – the band which inspired Bitchie and her band to make metal music in the first place. We talked exclusively to the ultimate rock chicks. Read the rest of this entry »
