They ripped up the second stage at Hard Rock Hell before Christmas and the second coming of The Glitterati gains momentum later this year when they release their second album Are You One Of Us?.
Out on April 19, the record represents a remarkable rebirth for the band which burst onto the scene with major label debut Do You Love Yourself in 2005 only to disappear without trace.
Signed to Tyneside’s Global Music, on their DR2 imprint, The Glitterati released new song Fight, Fight, Fight to critical acclaim in November and fans can expect more of the same on the band’s long-awaited second album. Read the rest of this entry »

W.A.S.P.’s new record Babylon has already outsold their previous effort and looks set to become the band’s biggest album for 20 years.
Backed up with a series of blistering live shows throughout 2009 – including a festival-stealing slot at Hard Rock Hell – Blackie Lawless and co. are on a roll.

Reborn Brit rockers The Glitterati will take time out from penning their new record to support shock rock heroes W.A.S.P. on this month’s UK tour.
But for those of you desperate to hear something fresh from the Leeds-based crew and latest signings to Global Music’s DR2 imprint your wait is almost over.

Indie rock maestros The Sound Ex have been spotted laying down the tracks which will eventually form the follow-up to the classy yet criminally overlooked Palomino.
The Tyneside crew took up residence in Newcastle’s Blast! studios last week to demo a series of stonking hook-laden tracks. And mixing is slated for mid-October. Quite why the career of these former major label darlings hasn’t come full circle is anyone’s guess but the guys are still producing music many a bigger band would kill for. Global Music continue to strengthen their DR2 roster of emerging rock Gods following the news that Leeds mob The Glitterati have inked a deal with the Tyneside-based label.
Joining the likes of The Sound Ex, Dear Superstar and Killing For Company, the band joins a stable brimming with ambitious British talent.

Hot Welsh rockers Killing For Company are putting the finishing touches to their as-yet-untitled debut on Tyneside this week – with drummer and former Stereophonic Stuart Cable insisting the band’s British rock sound is something akin to a ’steam train’.
Fusing Cable’s tub thumping with former members of Powder and The Teeth, the band signed to Global Music earlier this year. And after a month holed up inside a Newcastle studio KFC have targeted February for the release of their full-length debut. Read the rest of this entry »

Hard rock heroes Dear Superstar don’t show any sign of slowing down anytime soon after revealing they’re ready to interrupt a summer of non-stop gigging to lay down some new demos!
Yep, the rushonrock faves will head to Tyneside’s Blast! Studios next week after slaying the Sonisphere crowd at Knebworth. And they’ll spend a couple of days working on some of the songs which could make the cut on the follow-up to steady seller Heartless.
“We’re thinking about the new record but we haven’t had time to do much more than that this year,” admitted frontman Micky. “We’ve got a bit of time after Sonisphere and the Buckcherry tour to work on a couple of ideas and we’re already looking forward to coming back to Newcastle.” Read the rest of this entry »

They’ve become the best of friends and the keenest of sleaze rock rivals. And it seems there’s just no separating Manchester’s Dear Superstar from new mates Buckcherry these days.
Both bands joined fellow touring buddies Papa Roach at Download on Sunday. And now Dear Superstar and Buckcherry will lay waste to the UK next month as the latter embark on a full UK headline tour.

North East rock heroes Fables Last Stand take their game to the next level tonight with a special showcase set in front of 3,000-plus fans at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena.
Roachie, Twiggy and the boys are celebrating cutting the remaining tracks for their forthcoming debut album with a full set prior to Newcastle Eagles’ British Basketball League clash against London Capital.
