AC/DC founder member Dave Evans can’t wait to get cracking on his first headline tour of the UK.

And the returning Welshman is expecting big things from label mates Falling Red after the rising stars of Brit rock bagged the support slot on his summer tour.

But Evans has warned of the pitfalls facing young musos seeking a life as gigging professionals – pointing to his own experience with the Young brothers almost four decades ago. He told rushonrock: “It’s not easy being a professional anything. But being a professional musician is tough with egos and things like that. They’re one of our favourite new bands and they’re keeping trad metal alive – Manchester’s Fury UK are fast becoming the band to watch in 2010!

After wrapping up their latest high profile run of dates, as support to MSG, the band are already confirmed for 2010′s Hammerfest and have grand plans for the next 12 months.

Glad tidings of comfort and joy. Michael Schenker is back and on top of his game again.

And for anyone who has followed the tortured career of one of rock music’s most accomplished axeman and doubted he would ever scale such heights again, I’ll repeat: the Teutonic titan is back.

His gig at the Academy had its flaws but Schenker’s appearance, his demeanour and, most importantly, his guitar-playing were sights and sounds to behold.

“What I really want for Christmas is a rest. We’ve been working so hard throughout 2009 and the gigs keep coming thick and fast. But I’m not complaining. And if I’m not going to get any time off then what I love at Christmas is lots of lovely food. Christmas is all about giving – giving me plenty of food.”
