The band responsible for rushonrock’s 2008 Album Of The Year, US comeback kings Tesla, continue to set new standards with the release of a brand new live record.

Alive In Europe does what it says on the tin with 15 tracks culled from various venues across the continent. We checked them out twice in 24 hours last summer and the results were outstanding.

Released next month, the Frontiers Records’ follow-up to the phenomenal Forever More should complement the band’s legendary Five Man Acoustical Jam and whet fans’ appetites for the next studio album. Read the rest of this entry »

Download’s Air Time?

Aussie rock heroes Airbourne look set to join fellow countrymen AC/DC at Download this summer after axe slinger Roadsy let slip the band are due to storm Castle Donington in June.

With new album No Guts, No Glory out next month, coinciding with a full UK headline tour, the Roadrunner favourites are pinning their hopes on 2010 being a very, very big year.

And Roadsy told rushonrock: “Of course we’re looking at doing some festivals in the summer and it looks like we’ll be back at Download. It’s a great one to play and we can’t wait!” Read the rest of this entry »

Aerosmith will co-headline Download 2010 – on the condition that Steven Tyler joins Joe Perry on the Donington stage.

That’s the incredible news rock fans are digesting tonight as the organisers of the UK’s leading roc and metal festival continue to finalise this summer’s bill.

Chart-topping angst rockers Rage Against The Machine have also been lined up to join the likes of AC/DC, Them Crooked Vultures and Mortorhead at what is fast becoming a who’s who of rock greats. Just when it looked like new kid on the block High Voltage was struggling to keep pace with rival festivals Sonisphere and Download, the Classic Rock magazine-backed guitar fest has gone and pulled its latest batch of rabbits out of the hat.

And with The Answer and Joe Bonamassa just two of the new acts announced to tread the main stage boards there’s suddenly an exciting new look about the Victoria Park event.

With the legendary ZZ Top and ELP headlining the July event – with guests Heaven & Hell, Foreigner and Marillion boosting the bill – High Voltage had already made a serious mark on the summer festival scene. We’ve been talking up their prospects for some time and now AC/DC are confirmed as the first of this year’s Download headliners!

The 2010 Donington Park event takes place from June 11-13 and rushonrock will be there to bring you all of the rock and metal action.

eddieSonisphere may have stolen a march on its rivals in the race to become crowned the summer festival of 2010 – naming Iron Maiden, Rammstein and Alice Cooper among its confirmed acts – but next year’s new kid on the block has hit back in some style.

The Classic Rock conceived High Voltage two-dayer had already named ELP and ZZ Top as co-headliners and now Foreigner, Focus, Black Label Society and Clutch have been added to the bill.
