As revealed on rushonrock last week rising Geordie stars Dirty Rock And Roll will open up on a night of full-on rock at Trillians next month.
Adam and the boys have inked a deal to play the Newcastle venue on March 19 before classic rockers Hollywood Tease and headliners Falling Red take to the stage.
The three-band bill on March 19 promises to be a must-see event and is further evidence that emerging promoter Electric Kicks has its finger on the pulse of the rock and metal scene. Read the rest of this entry »

Rumour has it that one of the greatest unsigned bands of all time (well, in our view, anyway) is about to reform for a special one-off gig.
Baby Rattlesnakes went their separate ways several years ago after taking Tyneside’s rock scene by storm – and playing alongside the likes of the Quireboys, Electric Eel Shock and Tokyo Dragons. Sets at Trillians and the Head Of Steam were always a whole heap of fun but after a series of false dawns the four remaining members finally went their separate ways. Or did they? Northern stars Dirty Rock And Roll have contacted rushonrock to explain that tomorrow night’s Head Of Steam gig has been cancelled.
Adam, Lee and Steve were due to return to one of their fave live haunts this week as one of four hard rocking acts billed to appear at the Newcastle venue.
But the plug has been pulled on DRnR’s appearance and now fans will have to wait until October 6 to see the trio in action when Gateshead’s Three Tuns hosts the hard rocking heroes. If you’re still looking for a gig on Wednesday don’t forget The Used play Northumbria Uni…

INME (pictured) are one of a slew of bands taking to the stage this week and we’re going live crazy in a bid to bring you the very best of the gig action.
Next weekend might be the Great North Run but we’re gearing up for a rock marathon on Thursday as Dave McPherson’s mob, celebrating today’s release of Herald Moth, go head to head with LA Guns and Fables Last Stand plus the 2009 Jeff Fest. Three venues, too many bands and only one website capable of bringing you all the action first!
But a truly bonkers week kicks off tonight with Mammal at the End Bar and Blackhole preparing to blitz a Newcastle o2 Academy crowd. Random Hand check into Northumbria University on Tuesday and 24 hours later, at the same venue, The Used showcase their new record. Wednesday also sees Dirty Rock And Roll return to action at Newcastle’s Head Of Steam. Read the rest of this entry »

@ Newcastle Head Of Steam, August 12 2009
With the Journal headline of the same morning screaming out ‘You can’t pigeon-hole it but we’re pretty proud’, the pressure was on Dirty Rock And Roll to deliver their unique Brit sound and then some.
In addition there was the less than complimentary tone of a previous rushonrock review still ringing in the trio’s ears. So how would the kings of the North East’s underground rock scene respond on one of their favourite stages of recent months? And in front of a largely metal crowd to boot?
