Word reaches us that pre-production on one of the most eagerly awaited records of the year gets underway today as supergroup Down N Outz enter the studio.

The Mott The Hoople tribute band went down a storm opening up for their heroes at a sell-out Hammersmith show last year.

Expect an announcement soon from Mott The Hoople tribute act Down N Outz as the Def Leppard/Quireboys supergroup work towards releasing an album and DVD in 2010.

As a result of the rave reviews which followed their support slot on the final night of Mott The Hoople’s reunion tour, frontman Joe Elliott has been beavering away at his Dublin studio compiling a CD of Mott rarities.
