Brash tattoos, plenty of eyeliner and a tongue hanging out the corner of your mouth is a standard recipe for any Nu-Metal band.

And Dear Superstar seem to have the lot complete with an almost too cocky lead singer in Micky Satiar. What he may lack in vocal ability is certainly made up for with stage presence as he bounces around stage with maximum charisma. Heaven's Basement tourThree of Britain’s best young bands are set to deliver the Christmas present classic rock fans crave in December after hooking up for what should be a belting night of riff-fueled action.

Hard working, hard gigging quintet Heaven’s Basement headline a three-band bill featuring Global Music’s Dear Superstar and this week’s Kerrang! stars New Device – signed to Classic Rock Magazine’s Powerage label.

We’ve got an exclusive behind-the-scenes studio report coming up this week - plus an interview with frontman Micky.

We’re also catching up with another singer called Michael – Michael Sweet of Stryper after the Christian hair metal legends crashed the Billboard charts with their fantastic new record Murder By Pride. And after a three-week hiatus we can confirm uber columnist Self Made Man will be back on Friday! We promise.

dear-superstar-heartless1Hard rock heroes Dear Superstar don’t show any sign of slowing down anytime soon after revealing they’re ready to interrupt a summer of non-stop gigging to lay down some new demos!

Yep, the rushonrock faves will head to Tyneside’s Blast! Studios next week after slaying the Sonisphere crowd at Knebworth. And they’ll spend a couple of days working on some of the songs which could make the cut on the follow-up to steady seller Heartless.

“We’re thinking about the new record but we haven’t had time to do much more than that this year,” admitted frontman Micky. “We’ve got a bit of time after Sonisphere and the Buckcherry tour to work on a couple of ideas and we’re already looking forward to coming back to Newcastle.” Read the rest of this entry »
