They released one of the most startling debuts of 2009 and despite coming across like a 70s blues rock powerhouse insist their sound is nothing like classic rock.

But before they do we caught up with frontman Chris Robertson for a final bite of the ‘Cherry this year. Read the rest of this entry »

rushonrock faves Black Stone Cherry will make a decision in the New Year whether to carry on touring hit record Folklore & Superstition (pictured) or begin writing the follow-up to their hugely successful second album.
The US stars complete a headline tour of the UK later this month before a handful of European shows before November. The boys head home for a couple of charity gigs in the build-up to Christmas – before decision day on their immediate future.
“Come January we need to know whether we’re sitting down to write a new record or whether we’re going to give F&S one last twirl,” singer Chris Robertson told rushonrock. Read the rest of this entry »

@ Newcastle o2 Academy, October 19 2009
According to Black Stone Cherry frontman Chris Robertson the Kentucky, Edmonton crew didn’t get into rock n roll to drink beer and ‘meet’ women.

And when the music’s this good you just don’t want pints and groupies to spoil the party. Read the rest of this entry »

Rock’s October fest continues to gather pace this week with more music than you can shake a mic at and we’ve got it all right here. Canadian crew Billy Talent (pictured) kick off their UK headline tour today and we’ve got another rushonrock exclusive interview with a band still on the verge of the big time in Britain.

We’ll be catching up with BSC frontman Chris and Mark from the Mob before the gig and of course you can read the first full review right here.
