BON APPETITE

Guitar hero Joe Bonamassa has pledged to keep on playing after revealing his appetite for making music is stronger than ever.

With a Top 20 UK and Top 40 US solo album under his belt and the debut record from supergroup Black Country Communion due later this month the New Yorker has never been busier.

But Bonamassa, who has released 10 records in 10 years, insists the well is not about to run dry and fans can expect a deluge of new material next year. Read the rest of this entry »

TWIGGY UPS STICKS

Former Fables Last Stand axe slinger Twiggy has quit Tyneside for Los Angeles after realising a lifelong dream to pursue his music career in the USA.

Following Fables’ shock split earlier this year, the Newcastle-based guitarist has been writing songs with artists the world over.

BEHEMOTHBALLED

Behemoth frontman Nergal has broken his silence on the serious illness which has forced the band to cancel a slew of shows across two continents – including this weekend’s Bloodstock Open Air event.

The death metal legend has been hospitalised and it looks like the band won’t be back on stage until late 2010 or early 2011.

“I’d like to announce that Behemoth won’t be able to tour for the foreseeable future,” said Nergal. Read the rest of this entry »

Prolific Florida pop punks Mayday Parade are set to unleash their third album in as many years next month with a full UK tour to follow.

And we’re pretty sure Anywhere But Here will maintain an upward curve which has seen the Give It A Name tour favourites win an army of frenzied fans on this side of The Pond.

FREAKS CAUSE CRASHES

The freakiest folk from across the UK are lining up in their thousands to take part in two special Alice Cooper shows inked in for Halloween. And the demand has caused alicecooper.com to crash time and time again this week!

The shock rocker has invited weirdo hopefuls to audition for his groundbreaking Halloween Night Of Fear shows – already featuring the Jim Rose Circus and old pal Zodiac Mindwarp.

But the Coopster is keen to see as many crazy folk as possible bid for the chance to join him at London’s Roundhouse in October – with auditions taking place at the London Dungeon on Monday. Read the rest of this entry »

FIRE FACTORY

Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares has told of the moment the band’s tour bus went up in flames – melting to the road and causing the closure of the M1 motorway last night.

The band were on their way to London following a sell-out show in Sheffield when the coach driver spotted smoke coming from the back wheel.
