Hot on the heels of the hugely successful Blues album, Chess/UMC will release Rory Gallagher’s Check Shirt Wizard – Live In ’77 this spring.

The 20-song, previously unreleased set is culled from four shows (London, Brighton, Sheffield and Newcastle) during an early 1977 tour across the UK in support of Calling Card

Check Shirt Wizard – Live In ’77 features the very best of Calling Card plus songs from the 1975 record Against The Grain and a slew of fan favourites.

The album has been mixed from the original multi track tapes from the Gallagher archive which were recorded using the Rolling Stones and Jethro Tull’s mobile studios and mastered at Abbey Road.

The cover painting is by Irish graffiti artist Vincent Zara who has stencilled Rory’s image across his home country.

Renowned for his blistering live performances and highly respected for his dedication to his craft, Gallagher died in 1995, aged just 47.

Check Shirt Wizard – Live In ’77 is released on March 6.
