Thin Lizzy frontman Ricky Warwick has revealed the band is writing new material – but admits it might never see the light of day.

The former Almighty man is one of the UK’s foremost songwriters and, as yet, an untapped source of rich potential within the Lizzy ranks.

But Warwick revealed: “I think we’d all like to do something new. We’ve already been jamming on some new tunes and there’s some really cool stuff kicking about.

“Whether that will become a new Lizzy album or just a few tracks released here and there who knows?

“If it’s amazing music and it meets the Lizzy standard then it may well see the light of day.

“We all love writing and we’d all love to get together in the studio. We are very close as a band right now and it would give us all an extra incentive.”

Lizzy’s last album of original material was 1983’s Thunder And Lightning and a first new record in almost 30 years would be one of the major talking points of 2012.

Lizzy are out on the road again in January on their latest UK headline tour and we’ll bring you a full and exclusive interview with Ricky Warwick very soon.
