Black metal legends Venom have joined fellow Geordie boys Quireboys on the increasingly eclectic bill that is this summer’s High Voltage festival – with six new acts announced today.

Cronos (pictured) and his crew join Spike’s mob for the London two-dayer alongside UFO, Transatlantic, The Union and Zappa Plays Zappa.

And fans can already look forward to sets from ZZ Top, ELP, Heaven & Hell, The Answer, Foreigner and Marillion to name but a few. London’s Victoria Park plays host to this summer’s new kid on the festival block from July 24-25 with dedicated prog and metal arenas running alongside a star-studded main stage.

And if dual headliners ZZ Top and ELP lack the star quality of those bands booked to close this year’s other major rock and metal fests then the depth of quality and variety of music makes High Voltage one of the must-see shindigs of the year.
