Expect an announcement soon from Mott The Hoople tribute act Down N Outz as the Def Leppard/Quireboys supergroup work towards releasing an album and DVD in 2010.

As a result of the rave reviews which followed their support slot on the final night of Mott The Hoople’s reunion tour, frontman Joe Elliott has been beavering away at his Dublin studio compiling a CD of Mott rarities.

And the Down N Outz live set is being edited with a photo gallery of the show and the pre and post-gig shenanigans being mooted as a DVD extra.  Quireboys’ keyboardist and Down N Outz ivory tinkler Keith Weir told rushonrock: “Joe asked us to send him our parts and he’s adding the vocals to what will be a studio CD.

“The plan is to release it with the DVD of the Hammersmith show and we can’t wait to hear how it all sounds. Doing Down N Outz was great fun and we’re just delighted that there’s a demand for the stuff we did.

“We didn’t set out to do more than the one show with Joe but the whole thing’s just snowballed. It’s a fun side project for all of us to be involved with right now.”
