It’s been another memorable year for fans of rock and metal and as we get ready to wave goodbye to 2009 we look back on the best and worst of the last 12 months.
Nothing’s ever perfect but while some things came pretty close others simply died a suitably swift death.
We can’t wait for what promises to be another fantastic year for fans of all things loud and heavy.

Twelve months ago red hot US rockers Tesla walked away with the 2008 rushonrock Album of The Year and this year’s race to the top has been just as compelling.
There have been some cracking releases from established acts and some surprise hits from hitherto unknown bands.
And while we haven’t always given them the credit they deserve at the time, several albums released earlier this year have really grown on the rushonrock staff.

It’s been another great year for rock and another great year for rushonrock – and it’s all thanks to you!
We hope you get your BluRay concert DVDs, your 180 gram vinyl, your AC/DC box sets and those iTunes vouchers which make any music fan’s festive period.
If you’re hoping to catch Kiss, ZZ Top, Maiden, Bad Company or Europe in 2010 we hope your nearest and dearest have bagged those priceless gig tix and made this the best Christmas ever.
But most of all we hope you and your 52,000-plus mates visit rushonrock again next year. We’re predicting another titanic 12 months and we’ll be taking you through every twist and turn of the ever-changing rock and metal world.
And it all starts next week when we reveal the official 2009 rushonrock charts – featuring the very best releases, gigs and quotes of the year. Have a very merry Christmas and enjoy a rocking New Year!

It was always a gamble. But at the time it seemed like a gamble worth taking.
Adding Rammstein’s new record to this year’s Amazon wishlist was an innocent enough step.

They’re one of our favourite new bands and they’re keeping trad metal alive – Manchester’s Fury UK are fast becoming the band to watch in 2010!
After wrapping up their latest high profile run of dates, as support to MSG, the band are already confirmed for 2010’s Hammerfest and have grand plans for the next 12 months.
