Singer songwriter supreme Ricky Warwick has revealed he’s heading to Tyneside this summer on the back of his brilliant new solo record Belfast Confetti.
The new acoustic led album is out on Global Music’s DR2 label later this month and the former Almighty frontman is in awesome form as he recounts memories of his Ulster upbringing. Having already inked in a slew of dates for Ireland and Scotland, Warwick will announce a 10-date tour of England’s finest rock hotbeds later this week. But he told rushonrock: “I’m going to be playing Newcastle’s Academy 2 on June 28 and I can’t wait. I’ve got a busy summer ahead playing solo shows across the UK and America – so much so that I haven’t really got time to play any festivals.
“I’m just looking forward to playing the new record live. They are songs I’ve had in my head for years but it took a bit of enouragement from a good friend to actually get them down in writing.”
