The Sound Of Greatness

shinedown-soundToday’s the day when the rock fans across the UK should finally buy into one of America’s very best bands as Shinedown release new single The Sound Of Madness – a taster for next Monday’s album of the same name.

Here at rushonrock we’ve been listening to the band’s long player for a couple of weeks and we’ve been bowled over by the pounding vocalsĀ and soaring hooks.

It’s noisier than Nickelback, more anthemic than Avenged Sevenfold and mightier than comeback kings Anvil. In fact it’s one of the best records we’ve heard for ages and if it doesn’t finally break Shinedown on this side of The Pond then we’ll eat our (Fog)hat.

Ok, so it’s uber-comercial radio-friendly US rock but that’s not always a bad thing. Every so often it’s great to sit back, lose yourself and play air guitar like Bill and Ted. And the great news? rushonrock will be running an exclusive interview with the Shinedown guys very, very soon.

We’ve told you before but we’re gonna tell you again. These guys will be massive. Yes, massive. In fact, do you remember 80s rockers Mammoth? They’ll be bigger than them.

  1. A good album indeed. Easily the best of their career. It has been on my regular playlist for a few months now. Finally going to see them play live next month.

  2. Glad to see these guys get some well deserved recognition over here at last. It would be good to see a new UK release of sorts of their two previous (also brilliant) albums. No doubt they’ll be doing a full UK tour this year or next.
